• Wednesday 18 June 2025 Royal Scottish Academy Awards The Art Department are thrilled that Aleksandra Oleszkowicz, now in S5, has won a 1st place prize (Brodie's Regional Award) for the best artwork in northern Scotland for the Royal Scottish Academy School's award. The name of the artwork is Mirror Image and it is an A2 architectural drawing of a square in Naples, Italy.

• Monday 9 December 2024 Young Artist Rotary Competition The Art Department are thrilled that Olivia Walker in S2 has won a S1-S3 runner up prize for the best artwork in Perthshire at the Competition held at Perth Contemporary Art Gallery. There were over 90 entries this year, coming from all the schools in the area. Olivia submitted a still life drawing of a kettle and the judges loved how it "was well observed and fun". Olivia's work was hung in the gallery, alongside other professional artist's work, and we are delighted that she has had public recognition for this beautiful drawing. Well done Olivia!ontent

St John’s Academy’s entries were voted the best in Perthshire, beating 9 other state schools and 2 private schools in the area. This is a huge achievement, and we are delighted to be awarded this prize. Well done to all!
